Over June 2021, I helped a friend record his first folk album
(hopefully the first of many), during which I learned much more
than I could have learned alone. Everything was pretty improvised
in a less than ideal space, but we managed to do a lot with a little.
These are some snippets.

Each recording was performed and 'mixed' by me over a period of a few days at most, in a house
not properly converted to a studio in any way. Drums and guitar are all analog, as I try to use virtual instruments sparingly.
A study instrumental of "Girl Inform Me" by The Shins all done in about an hour (after learning/making up
parts).
Another similar study of "The Fear" by The Shins. Note I'm using stock Logic X instruments when needed,
so some parts could sound better but don't in the interest of time/money.
A classic rock home jam while experiementing with what
drum sounds I could achieve. Overall mix turned out interesting,
but I've since found some better drum sounds/ways to mix them comfortably.
I thought the guitars sounded sick, though.
